Welcome to Heather House

The location of Heather House is well situated between the popular residential areas of Barley Mow in Birtley and Chester-le-Street, with good access to both vibrant town centres.

We provide dedicated and experienced care for eleven residents with learning and physical disabilities, who are supported to live within the home with the greatest level of independence and respect. Our vibrant home community has strong relationships with those in our local area, and we are regularly out on excursions, taking part in activities and events.We offer: Residential Care for people with Learning Difficulties.

    On 9th September residents will be visiting a nearby restaurant for lunch. Afterwards, they will have the opportunity to stroke some furry friends in the small animal sanctuary attached to the restaurant.

    Great news we are starting our very own Gardening Club soon and our ‘green fingered’ residents will be busy planting, potting and growing small indoor plants so watch out Monty Don!

    Residents will be in their party outfits on 16th September as they are off to the local disco at Dunston Community Centre for some light entertainment.

    A coffee morning will be held on 30th September for residents and their families, following on from this in the afternoon we will be holding our annual Autumn Fair at 2.00pm. There will be an array of stalls with an ‘Autumn feel, especially our fabulous cake stall and residents will be ‘donning’ their aprons and joining in with the biscuit baking classes. Come and enjoy a cup of coffee, chat and, of course, a scrummy piece of home-made cake!
