My day usually stars at around 9:00 am when my alarm goes off. I have arranged my room and have all my personal things around me, I like to get up around 9:00 am because i usually stay up late in the evening either chatting to other people in the communal area or watching my box sets in my bedroom.
I go to the kitchenette area and make myself a cuppa to take back to my room where I slowly get ready for the day. I have en-suite facilities so I can watch my tv to catch up on the days news whilst I get ready. The support workers know me well and respect my routine. They help me prepare my breakfast, I like bacon and egg sandwiches with a cup of coffee whilst I sit in the dining area. I then have a few jobs to do like tidying my room, sorting out my laundry and making a list for when we go to the shops later on.
About 11:00am I am ready to go to the e-cafe just down the road to meet up with people I know to have a chat and have lunch. My key worker knows where I am and we have agreed that I will come home for 1:00pm as I have a doctors appointment at 2:00pm and they are going to go to that with me. Whilst we are out we also go to Aldi to buy food for my tea. Today I fancy sausages and beans so that is what we buy and bring home.
I have my tea around 6:00pm and my key worker is around to give me any help I need while I cook it. Tonight I have arranged a Skype call with my dad who lives down in London, we talk for half an hour two times a week. I go to my bedroom where I can have some privacy, the WiFi is really good here. My room is my safe haven I have a key so I am able to have privacy when I need it, I can lock my room when I am out so I know no-one can alter my room or break my things.
We have a cinema room where three times a week we can all be together to watch a film. Tonight one of my friends in the home has chosen the film so I know it will be good.
Eventually I will wander back to my room where I will have some peace and quiet before I go to bed.
